Review
Farmerama is a 2D Browser-Based MMO similar to the critically acclaimed Facebook MMO Farmville that will see you take control of your own farm. Like Harvest Moon, a SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) title from the 90s, Farmerama shows only too well how enjoyably addictive it is to set up and maintain your very own farm; however, as Farmerama is an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online Game), you can do so in the company of thousands of other players.
Running a farm is no easy task, and requires that you are familiar with both the in-game interface and the specific game mechanics. If you’ve played Farmville before then you’re already leagues ahead of the pack; though, if you haven’t, let me give you the low-down. As a farmer, you’ll be required to manage everything from your animals to your vegetables, and all of them operate a little differently.
Fortunately, there’s plenty of variety. Harvesting crops can take many forms, from simple vegetables to picking and planting trees, and there are a large number animals to collect and care for, too. As the game progresses more animals and plants become available, offering you more and more variety the longer you play.
As you play, you’ll gain experience and ‘Country Coins’ for successfully harvesting crops and completing missions. Country Coins can be spent on new seeds and livestock, buildings for your farm and plenty more, and they can also be traded in for Barnyard Bucks, the ‘real cash’ currency of Farmerama. Basically, this means that you can eventually purchase VIP items without having to spend real money, offering the full features of Farmerama, free forever.
And of course, as Farmerama is a Browser-Based title, you can play within minutes of reading this review, and aren’t required to download large files to play. Missing the country life? Try Farmerama – it could be just what the doctor ordered.
